“Where is everyone?” I walked into the back with Hope at my side.
“I sent them home. I had a feeling you'd show up.” He was sitting at his tattoo station.
“Why? What are you doing?” I sat down in his tattoo chair to talk to him.
“I'm getting ready to tattoo you. In all these years, Maggie, you've never gotten a tattoo from me.” He picked up a piece of art and showed it to me. It was a picture of two angels dancing together.
“What's that?” It was gorgeous.
“It's you and your Mr. Right. He's out there, Maggie and this is to remind you to never give up until the two of you are dancing together for all of eternity.” He set the stencil back down on his table.
“Thank you, Tango, thank you.” I held back the tears as he shaved my upper arm on my right shoulder, washed it and placed the stencil.
An hour later, I had my tattoo. Out of all the tattoos I had, this was my favorite. He had put a lot of thought into it, and I wore it proudly.
“Now, it's your turn to tattoo me. I want the same one. Frankee was my soul mate, and though I will love again, I won't ever love anyone the way I loved her.”
I gave Tango his tattoo on the same arm, in the same place. We were bonded for life now. I was gonna miss that old man.
